I wish to thank you for processing my order for a Bell Lithium MIPS helmet. Your service was exceptional. My comments do not reflect on ADM.

Upon receiving the Bell helmet I was quite impressed with the quality of the helmet and its features, especially for the price. It fit a little tight which was expected as a new helmet but quickly set in for a proper fit.

But, within seconds of getting up to speed on my motorcycle I found wind noise from this helmet to be totally unacceptable! I was so disappointed. I have had HJC helmets in the past so the difference in noise with the Bell was immediately noticed. I initially intended to purchase another HJC but could not find a suitable model. I thought Bell, as a reputable brand, would have been equal or better. The wind noise is so bad I cannot hear the engine anymore or know when i have achieved a succesful downshift, except by feel, until under 50 kph.

Returning after my first ride, I read a number of reviews with the same complaint. The problem seems to be primarily with the design of the upper air vents. I have had to fill them with foam and tape them closed. I have lined the shiny MIPS shell with felt material to try to acoustically improve the noise level. I should not have to do this! This is a case of poor aerodynamic design. With these modifications the noise seems to be reduced.

I am a 1000km/ year rider with a very limited budget. I cannot afford a $1000 Shoei or other high end helmet. I did not order the cheapest helmet either. I could have purchased a Bell Lithium Flip for almost $100 less from your competitors but believed the MIPS at the higher price was a better product. Having had similarly priced HJC's I figured the Bell would have served me well.

I can, and likely will, use earplugs to further reduce the noise but that does not allow me to hear the engine and other sounds. My other option is to use my old HJC but that is not good from a safety standpoint.

In the longterm I will save for a Schuberth S3, on sale usually around $500, apparently one of the quietest helmets.

I am so disappointed with Bell. Please convey my thoughts to your representative.
