Design and concept:

The improvement process is a constant evolution, and with a world-class team of designers and engineers leading the charge, we pushed our resources and technologies to the limit, utilizing our state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility, a wide range of proprietary materials, and the industry's most stringent quality assurance practices to develop the all-new RF-1400. SHOEI's lightest and most compact Snell-approved full-face helmet, the RF-1400 has taken the pursuit of perfection to the next level.

Aerodynamic performance:

The RF-1400 boasts impressive improvements in aerodynamic performance, including a 6% reduction in lift and a 4% reduction in drag (compared to the RF-1200). Furthermore, thanks to a compact, aerodynamic shell shape that incorporates an integrated spoiler, along with strategically shaped air intakes and exhaust vents that help streamline the helmet's overall profile, the RF-1400 significantly reduces the load on the rider's head. The optimized shell aerodynamics not only enhance the helmet's ability to cut through airflow but also contribute to a welcome reduction in wind noise without blocking out valuable road sounds.

CWR-F2 visor and base plate system:

The all-new CWR-F2 visor system offers enhanced visibility, functionality, and performance. Highlighting a long list of updates, the CWR-F2's flat 2D outer surface, combined with 3D technology on the inside, delivers an aggressive look with optimized visibility for a more natural view. Vortex generators (borrowed from X-Fourteen technology) on the visor's sides improve aerodynamics and reduce wind noise, and an all-new center-locking mechanism helps evenly distribute visor forces across the two spring-loaded base plates. Additionally, the first-position opening feature provides advanced ventilation and demisting capabilities.

A completely redesigned base plate system provides smoother visor opening and closing, and a new visor adjustment mechanism allows for easier and more precise adjustments. Combined with an all-new window rim that reduces wind and water intrusion, the CWR-F2 visor and base plate system is the most advanced on the market today.

Pinlock EVO DKS-304:

The new PINLOCK EVO DKS-304 lens system, 10% larger, improves the lateral field of vision thanks to pivots moved outside the field of vision and offers the most effective anti-fog protection available.

Optimized ventilation:

Using SHOEI's in-house wind tunnel to help reveal the optimal balance between airflow and quietness, our designers and engineers relocated the central/front vent and also equipped it with an additional air intake hole to increase the volume of cooling air entering the helmet. Furthermore, a new, enlarged exhaust outlet vent allows for better utilization of the negative pressure suction at the rear of the helmet, improving the expulsion of hot air. In total, the RF-1400 features six air intakes (two lower, two front, and two upper) and four exhaust outlets.

AIM+ Multi-Ply Matrix Shell:

Few features of a motorcycle helmet are as critical as its first layer of defense, which is precisely why the all-new RF-1400 features SHOEI's exclusive Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ construction. Combining a six-layer fiberglass matrix with lightweight, high-performance organic fibers, the RF-1400's exclusive AIM+ shell offers optimal shock absorption, strength, and elasticity, and is available in four shell sizes to ensure a custom fit for head sizes ranging from XS to XL.

Double-layer, multi-density EPS lining:

The RF-1400's dual-layer, multi-density EPS liner not only provides superior shock absorption by utilizing varying foam densities in key areas around the rider's head, but it's also designed to allow unrestricted cooling airflow through tunnels created within the EPS, further enhancing the RF-1400's already superior ventilation characteristics. In addition to improved shock absorption and ventilation, the precise placement of the multi-density EPS liner material results in a more compact and lightweight design.

3D Max-Dry Interior System II Lining:

The RF-1400 features a fully removable, washable, adjustable, and replaceable 3D Max-Dry Interior System II liner. The components of the 3D center pad are three-dimensionally shaped to conform to the contours of the rider's head, providing an exceptionally comfortable fit while maintaining the secure grip needed for distraction-free high-speed riding. Additionally, the RF-1400's 3D-shaped cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses for a customizable fit, and SHOEI's exclusive Max-Dry material absorbs and wicks away perspiration twice as fast as traditional nylon.

The newly designed cheek pads offer more volume at the bottom for greater comfort and reduced wind noise, and the soft yet durable fabric of the lower cheek pad provides an exceptionally plush fit and feel. The hybrid, moisture-wicking, quick-drying material in the cheek and brow areas, along with the soft, raised fabric in areas prone to rubbing against the rider's face when removing the helmet, gives RF-1400 riders the perfect balance of comfort and performance.

Adding to overall comfort, specially designed cheek pad channels help eliminate pressure created by eyeglass arms around the temple area for motorcyclists who wear glasses.

Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS):

Borrowing technology developed for SHOEI's on-road and off-road racing helmets, the RF-1400 features SHOEI's exclusive Emergency Quick Release System (EQRS), which allows emergency medical personnel to easily remove the cheek pads from an injured rider's helmet. Once the cheek pads are removed, the helmet can be safely lifted from the motorcyclist's head without creating unnecessary strain in the neck area.

Superior noise reduction:

It's important to capture the informative sounds of the road, but too much unwanted noise inside a helmet can negatively impact the riding experience. That's why the RF-1400 underwent extensive testing to find the perfect balance. In addition to the optimized shell aerodynamics that reduce wind noise around the helmet, the RF-1400's advanced visor aerodynamics (thanks to vortex generators), the all-new airtight window rim, and the large cheek pads that further limit wind noise inside the helmet, all of these features combine to create an incredibly quiet riding experience.
