FEATURES :

• Advanced shell construction : This helmet features a thermo-injected shell made from a special polymer blend, reinforced with varying thicknesses, designed to provide the best compromise between lightness and impact protection. The SM3 model in medium size weighs 1430 g (ECE) and 1460 g (DOT).
• Optimized ventilation : Maximum ventilation and efficient heat exchange are ensured thanks to 10 air inlets and 7 extractors.
• Rotational force protection : A patented Alpinestars low-friction coating is applied to the inner portion of the main EPS liner to reduce rotational acceleration forces generated by certain angled impacts. This layer acts as a glide plane, mimicking the brain's low-friction cerebrospinal fluid, which provides a natural defense against these types of impacts.
• Visor release system : The patented visor release system ensures that the visor detaches with a predetermined force, effectively reducing stress on the rider's neck in the event of an impact.

MANUFACTURING :

• The internal and external surfaces are designed to minimize the effects of angled impacts.
• 5 internal EPS parts with 4 different densities for optimal volume management and performance in the event of an impact.
• Hydration hose channels are integrated into the cheek pads, combining convenience and performance.
• The inner lining is made from recycled materials, in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint.
• The fit can be customized with crown and cheek pads available in different thicknesses as original spare parts.

PROTECTION :

• Alpinestars has implemented a new internal standard to test the SM3 helmet's chin bar under more stringent conditions than traditional homologation standards. To meet these requirements, the shell thickness and the helmet's structure have been optimized in the chin area to provide superior impact performance.
• The internal and external surfaces are designed to reduce the effects of angled impacts.
• Equipped with an emergency release system and removable cheek pads to allow safe and easy removal while the helmet is still being worn. The pre-shaped 3D foam also ensures maximum comfort.
• The soft textile chin strap, 25 mm wide, guarantees safety and comfort for the rider.
• Stainless steel D-rings ensure a tight and secure fit.
• The SM3 helmet is DOT and ECE 2206 certified, making it approved for use worldwide.
