FEATURES :

• This lightweight helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special polymer blend with varying thickness levels, ensuring the best balance between impact protection and lightness.
• Its lightweight outer shell, made from advanced impact-resistant thermoplastic, is available in three sizes: YS, YM, and YL. The SM3 Youth weighs 1060g (ECE) and 1170g (DOT).
• There are two distinct shell versions to meet DOT and ECE standards. The DOT version features an internal composite fiber shell, positioned between the outer shell and the EPS liner, offering maximum impact protection.
• The helmet fit can be customized thanks to the crown and cheek pads, which are available in different thicknesses as spare parts.
• YM and YL sizes share the same EPS size, allowing a young rider initially using YM to upgrade to YL as they grow, simply by replacing the crown and cheek pads.
• The YS size has a smaller EPS liner, which can only be adjusted through the cheek pads. Alpinestars' extensive research shows that YS-sized riders are typically 3 to 4 years old, requiring a dedicated helmet fit.

• The multi-density inner liner ensures optimal impact absorption, adjusting density in key areas, while also helping to reduce overall weight.
• The inner and outer surfaces are designed to minimize oblique impact effects.
• Alpinestars’ patented low-friction coating is applied to the main EPS liner, reducing rotational acceleration forces caused by certain oblique impacts. This slip-plane layer mimics the brain’s natural cerebrospinal fluid, offering enhanced protection.
• Optimized ventilation with 10 air inlets and 7 exhaust ports, ensuring efficient cooling and maximum heat dissipation.
• The visor is specifically designed to channel air into the ventilation ports, improving internal airflow.
• Patented visor release system allows the visor to detach with a predetermined force, reducing strain on the rider’s neck in case of impact.
• The inner liner is made from recycled materials, reducing the helmet’s carbon footprint.
• Hydration tube channels are integrated into the cheek pads, enhancing convenience and performance.

• Alpinestars has implemented a new internal safety standard for the SM3 Youth, subjecting the chin bar to stricter testing than conventional homologation standards. To meet these new requirements, the shell thickness and structure have been optimized in the chin area for superior impact performance.
• Equipped with an Emergency Release System and removable cheek pads, allowing safe and easy pad removal while keeping the helmet in place. The 3D-contoured foam ensures optimal rider comfort.
