The SM5 helmet was designed to provide motocross riders with a safe and specially designed helmet to provide optimal protection and comfort. This lightweight SM5 helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special blend of polymers enhanced by varying degrees of density, designed to provide the optimal combination of impact protection and lightness, while the five-density EPS liner guarantees density correct in the appropriate area for improved shock absorption.

Features

• A specially designed raised area with padding effectively reduces forces transmitted to the collarbone, and a patented visor release system ensures that the visor is released with the correct predetermined amount of force, regardless of impact angle.
• The bottom shell of Medium, Large, XL and 2XL has been modified to be approximately 3% wider, making it easier to put on and take off the helmet. This increase in helmet volume has also improved impact management performance, which is now 44% lower than the regular speed threshold.
• For the new ECE 22.06 standard, the SM5 achieves a 44% better regular speed impact score compared to the current value of 33%, as well as a 32% better low speed linear impact score and a d score. Linear impact at high speed 31% better than the current standard.
• Multi-density internal lining to ensure the correct density in the appropriate area for enhanced shock absorption.
• New redesigned chin bar profile, with a specially sculpted base area to give a relief section, raised to clear the collarbone, with a softer EPS liner that extends beyond the helmet shell itself , and is covered with a softer rubber compound reducing the risk of injury to the collarbone.
• Maximized ventilation and high heat exchange through multiple air inlets and exhaust ports.
• The ECE version of the SM5 helmet weighs 1,350 grams for a medium size, and 1,420 grams for the ECE DOT version with visor.
• The visor has been designed to direct air into the inlets for better air circulation.
• The SM5 is available in 2 versions: ECE R 22.06 and ECE R 22.06/DOT.
