I just went for my first ride with my 8 Gear - Dyneema jeans and wanted to share my thoughts.

Style & Fit: At first glance, they look remarkably like a pair of normal Levi's. The fit is perfectly true to size for both waist and length. While they are slightly heavier than regular jeans, they feature convenient
connection tabs along the waist to easily hook up to your jacket.

Material & Comfort: I like that the Dyneema is woven into the denim as a single layer covering the entire garment; it's so much nicer than dealing with bulky, multi-layered Kevlar. After a 4-hour ride, I was very satisfied with the overall comfort.

On the Bike: When I initially put them on, the hip and knee protectors sat in the correct positions. However, as I mounted the bike, the knee pads shifted a bit. Thankfully, they are adjustable, so I will easily dial in the perfect placement on my next ride. I did find the pants slightly more restrictive than normal jeans, but that is to be expected with built-in armor.

Breathability: I rode on a sunny day at 30°C, and the pants breathe just like regular jeans. I was still hot, but at 30°C, that's unavoidable.

Final Thoughts: While I can't personally vouch for the real reason I bought them—their AA/AAA safety rating—and I hope I never have to, it is incredibly comforting to know that high level of protection is there.

Je viens de faire ma première sortie moto avec mon jean 8 Gear en Dyneema et je voulais partager mon avis.

Style et coupe : Au premier coup d’œil, il ressemble beaucoup à un Levi’s classique. La taille et la longueur sont parfaitement conformes. Bien qu’il soit légèrement plus lourd qu’un jean ordinaire, il est doté de pattes de fixation pratiques à la taille pour l’attacher facilement à une veste.

Matière et confort : J’apprécie que le Dyneema soit tissé dans le denim en une seule couche recouvrant tout le vêtement ; c’est tellement plus agréable que le Kevlar épais et multicouche. Après 4 heures de route, j’étais très satisfait du confort général.

À moto : Lorsque je l’ai enfilé, les protections de hanches et de genoux étaient bien positionnées. Cependant, une fois en selle, les genouillères ont légèrement bougé. Heureusement, elles sont réglables, je pourrai donc facilement les ajuster parfaitement lors de ma prochaine sortie. J’ai trouvé le pantalon un peu plus contraignant qu’un jean classique, mais c’est normal avec des protections intégrées.

Respirabilité : J’ai roulé par une journée ensoleillée à 30 °C, et le pantalon respire aussi bien qu’un jean classique. J’avais chaud, certes, mais à 30 °C, c’est inévitable.

Conclusion : Même si je ne peux pas me porter garant de la véritable raison de mon achat – leur certification de sécurité AA/AAA – et j’espère ne jamais avoir à le faire, c’est extrêmement rassurant de savoir qu’un tel niveau de protection est garanti.
