Precision EFI and its partner Accelerated Technologies present the all-new reflash for the Ski-Doo Smart Shox system. The result of over 2 years of development and testing based on feedback from owners and our test riders, this calibration tunes the KYB suspensions for real-world trail conditions.

Accelerated Technologies, whose reputation is well-established in motorcycle and snowmobile suspension tuning and rebuilding, has developed three electronic adjustment modes to ensure optimal performance regardless of the conditions encountered. A major breakthrough for snowmobilers who want to get the most out of their Smart Shox.

FEATURES

      1-Factory Comfort Mode: The graph clearly demonstrates how the front factory settings are far too soft in compression and far too hard in rebound. This results in a suspension that sags almost completely and does not return to its initial position quickly enough before the next bump. The result is a suspension that is always working at the end of its travel, bottoming out several times during your ride. As for the rear, it is quite comfortable from the factory in the initial travel, but its stiffness around 2/3 of the travel pushes the rider into the seat and then bounces them on every large bump. A bouncy sensation that occasionally leads to a certain loss of control.
      PEFI Comfort Mode: We have corrected the excessive softness of this mode, which featured almost zero compression damping, and refined the rebound for precision and comfort on rugged trails. The rear now offers much better travel control while absorbing irregularities in a surprising way, without ever bottoming out. We have achieved a much more consistent behavior and eliminated the feeling of being ejected from the seat on large bumps. A truly comfortable and more efficient mode.

      2-Factory Sport Mode: The graphic evaluation shows a very fine difference between the comfort and sport modes, with only one minimal difference in the rebound setting. Yet this mode should satisfy sporty riders. Far from it, with many of the same weaknesses as the comfort mode.
      PEFI Sport Mode: We have kept the same theory of improvements made to the comfort mode but with about 30% more firmness at the front and 20% more at the rear. We put a lot of effort into perfectly tuning the Sport mode because it will undoubtedly be the most used. Our various types of test riders loved the new, sportier settings that make us want to enter corners harder and hit the throttle to climb a bumpy slope, all while remaining in full control. It even proved to be more comfortable than the factory comfort mode because the shocks never bottom out.

      3-Factory Sport Plus Mode: For this mode, the manufacturer pushed the front rigidity to a point where it is only effective on a billiard-smooth surface. On a bumpy surface, the steering becomes imprecise, causing a loss of ski grip. At the rear, the compression was not far from perfection, but the rebound, far too restricted, prevents the suspension from returning to its initial position, leaving it working near the end of its travel.
      PEFI Sport Plus Mode: At the front, the PEFI programming settings offer aggressive riders better ski grip, total control, and never a violent reaction. At the rear, there is now a well-balanced rebound curve to perfectly match the progressive sliding behavior offered by the R Motion X. The compression curve has been perfectly tuned to attack bumps aggressively without ever lacking control or risking bottoming out. A judicious calibration that allows you to stay in contact with the surface regardless of its condition.
